Happy Rainy Monday Team...Hope you all had a great weekend and were able to enjoy the sunshine along with some well deserved R & R!  We have a full week in school this week...it's been a while since we were here all 5 days.  Eat your Wheaties!

MARCH is SOCIAL WORK MONTH!

A special SHOUT-OUT and a huge thank you goes out to each of the Laurus Academy School Social Workers! Please be sure to take a moment to celebrate the hard work and dedication of the social workers in our building..Ms J'Lynn Johnson and Joi White. We are so grateful for the support, dedication, and compassion you give to our students. THANK YOU!!!!!

Parent-Teacher Conferences

At this time, all parent-teacher conference invitations should have gone out. SPED Resource Room Teachers...Please check in with your classroom teachers to see when they are holding your students conferences and plan to attend if needed.

Lexia Challenge

The Lexia Challenge has officially begun. Encourage your students to complete as many units as possible. Each week, the class with the most units completed will receive a small prize. The class with the most units monthly will receive a pizza party.

Upcoming Interims

This is the time to print Interim 3 for ELA and Math. We don't have much time to get them ready. Use these interims to backwards plan. Be very strategic and specific. Go through the interim and make sure your kiddos are ready.

Weekly Progress Monitoring

We are strongly pushing Aimsweb weekly progress monitoring. Your interventionist had a mandatory scheduled time to complete the progress monitoring. This year, our school has fallen behind with the NHA expectation. We are striving to get back on track.

Bulletin Boards

It's that time again! Please update your bulletin boards for the month of March. Remember to include your standards, I Can statements, scores on student work, and student feedback. Your boards were so great for the month of February. Let's keep up the good work!

D.E.A.R

On Monday, March 14th we will be participating schoolwide in D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything and Read). This is a great way to send the message that reading for pleasure is important. We will start at 1:00pm. Please make sure every student has a high interest book to read for 20 minutes. Make sure you have a book as well!
