Restroom Concerns
We have been having major issues with highly unsanitary bathroom conditions. Students are urinating all over the floors in both the girls and boys bathrooms. We have had to repeated shut down 3-5 restrooms for cleaning. But we need your help.
All 3rd grade and 4th grade classes must go as an entire class. After the first four students use the rest room, you (the teacher) must go in and do a quick spot check. This must be done after every set of four students in both the girls and the boys restrooms. Encourage all students to use the restroom. There will be no bathroom breaks during lunch except for emergencies. Hopefully, this will help cut down on the unsanitary conditions. If the problem continues, 5th grade will also need to go as a class so there is adult supervision and spot checks. We are asking every teacher to have a talk with their classes. If students are found to be intentionally doing these things, there will be disciplinary actions taken.
Achievement Boards
Classroom Achievement Boards must be completed before the end of the week for each classroom. Please remember that each board should be neatly organized with student writing. Your boards must include:
- Objective (I CAN statement), description of activity, scored with comments on student work
- Utilizing the Laurus writing process
- Neat and attractive
This board must be updated on a monthly basis. Please assist your grade level teacher as needed.
Life is meant to be lived forward. Learn from the past but don't live there. Today is a new day to create a better tomorrow.
