Happy Monday Team! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are excited about the new month of March that starts on Tuesday!  I love hearing the birds in the morning...a sign that spring is coming!  We have a busy month ahead...so eat your Wheaties!

WIDA Testing

I will be very involved with finishing up WIDA testing this week.  

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Spring Parent-Teacher conferences are from March 14th -March 18th. Teachers will be sending out Sign-up Genius this week. 

Grade Book Closes

Grade book closes this Friday, March 4 for classroom teachers and Resource Room teachers who provide a Modified Curriculum.  If there are missing assignments, please get them in this week.

Special Education Progress Reports

Special Education Staff need to have these completed by next Monday, March 7th.  These need to be sent to classroom teachers to be sent home with Report Cards on March 11th.  If you have any questions, please let me know.

Math Interim 2

This week, teachers will administer the Math Interim 2. Please be sure to chunk the test and make sure the students take their time. It is imperative that ALL students complete the assessment.  This needs to be completed by Friday, March 4.

Wing Meeting

Mark your calendars! Grade Level teams will have a wing meeting on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at 7:30am. You will need to attend your respective grade level Wing Team.  I will get the links sent out to you.

Special Education - we will have a big Team Meeting on Wednesday at our usual time.  Julie will be attending.

Intervention - I am hoping to schedule a meeting with you on Thursday afternoon.  More information to come.

Cookie Sale

On Tuesday, classes will receive information on our Cookie Sale. A link for a livestream or a video will be sent out to classroom teachers to play for their class, as well as order forms will be passed out.  All orders are due on March 18th.

Black History Presentations

By now all students have presented their Black History Projects in the class. The top 2 students names to Ms. Campbell. This week, the students will participate in the Wax Museum Stars Live Stream. Please refer to Ms. Campbell's email for more info. The schedule is as follows:

Monday: 1st, 4th, 7th

Tuesday: 2nd, 5th, 8th

Wednesday: Kindergarten, 3rd, 6th

Hello Team! 

I am so sorry to send this out late...I forgot....   I hope that you all had a good long weekend and were able to get some rest and relaxation.   

Just a few updates that you need to know....

• Child Study 2/22/22...
• Black History Projects are due this week on February 22nd. Students will be presenting their projects throughout the week. 
• Social Studies Interim in grades 3-8 will take place this week. Remember to chunk the test your your scholars. Math Interim 2 will take place next week. 
• We are entering our 2nd week of tutoring. It's not too late to add students. 
• Just a reminder that we have a special school visit on Wednesday, Feb. 23rd. Our visitors may be visiting your classroom. 
• Keep an eye out for our Spring Parent Teacher Conference email. Trimester 2 is soon coming to an end. 

 

Happy Monday Everybody!  Did you watch the game?  I was hoping the LA Rams would win and they did!  Totally enjoyed the game, Half Time (I was rocking') and the commercials.  Hope you did too!  Well...we have a short week...by a half day...this week and next (due to Monday being Presidents Day...and a day off for us!)…but it's still going to be busy.  Here is what you need to know...

Tutoring

Tutoring starts this week for students who returned their permission slips. This was invite only...and a big thank you to those of you who are tutoring. 

SPED M-Step Prep

We all should be well into M-Step prep at this point. Please remember to focus on the priority standards, math basic skills, writing, and vocabulary. Let's share any new resources that we come across or create.

NWEA

Please refer to your email to see the update testing schedule. ALL students must be done testing by Friday. The schedule is as follows:

Monday- ELA 6-8
Tuesday- ELA 3-5
Wednesday- Math 6-8
Thursday- Math 3-5
Friday- Make Up 

Intervention

Please make sure that we resume AIMSWeb Progress Monitoring this week.  This should be done weekly.  

Tutoring

Tutoring letters will go out on Monday. Please refer to Silva Roger's email for more details. 

Achievement Boards

During our walk-through with our DSQ, she noticed some immediate updates that need to happen regarding our achievement boards. Please make sure your board has the following:

• Achievement Boards (See example below)
• Student product not worksheets
• Scored w/feedback (This can be on a sticky note)
• Maximize space with student work (not just 5-6 out of 28 students)
• I can posted along with standards
• No missing or tattered borders

Count Day

Please note that Count Day is on Wednesday, Feb. 9th. Please inform your students and parent that it is a free dress day.
